Award winning Integrated Brand Campaign - 2017 Joplin ADDYs Gold & Best of Show
The Cake Occasion is a bakery located in Northwest Arkansas. Originally, the company just opened their doors when we began this project, meaning they had no visual identity. Meetings included: proposing ideas, solutions, and research of modern trends with the end goal to encompass the company's overall mission. While working within the client's budget and while fulfilling their visual goals, I created the entire brand identity for this company. This included a logo family, website, packaging for delivery of products, a custom recipe book for the owner to keep all of her recipes together, branded clothing and a more cohesive social media presence. The social media presence was the real challenge, knowing this is where the main form of business comes from, we had to create a strong social media presence for followers that would be able to recognize their products as well as make customers want to order them.
KC Sports hosts baseball tournaments for youth leagues and they reached out to me asking to create some logos for their upcoming tournaments; Opening Day and Spring Classic.
I spoke with the client to discuss the design process, timeline, budget and was given an idea of their vision for each logo. The main focus was originality, new and fresh ideas, and to show them something they had not seen before. After exchanging emails discussing edits, likes, dislikes, we finalized each logo. It was very fun being able to have a bit of creative freedom and the ability to tie in my own style for these logos and I'm glad I had this opportunity to share my designs for the Kansas City public to view!
The Collegio Newspaper Re-Brand
Award winning group project - 2016 Joplin ADDYs Gold & Judges Choice, and the All Kansas award at the Collegiate Media Conference, 2016
Re-branding project taken on by employees of the Collegio Newspaper. I researched newspaper and publishing trends, engaged in meetings proposing ideas, solutions and giving feedback among the other employees involved. We decided on branding guidelines such as typography, color palette, the flag logo, supporting logos, and how the new social media posts would look to fully round out the brand and engage more readers to pick up the paper. We received positive feedback almost immediately from our readers after the initial launch of our newly designed newspaper.

Animation is becoming more prevalent in the design industry, so in an attempt to keep up with the trends, I self-taught myself to use Adobe After Effects to try my hand at creating some of these animated graphics, such as gifs and videos. Testing out logos, promoting organizations for others to view as well as creating graphics from scratch and having them come to life to create a more engaging form of viewing for the audience.

Taking my photography skills and knowledge, I found a couple of opportunities to tackle a new skill: Video. I had always wanted to try it and as I've seen more uses of video for commercials, fun advertisements, etc. I knew I wanted to give it a shot. I took video clips I had recorded at some events I had attended and self-taught myself to put them together in Adobe Premiere Pro to create some fun, memory filled videos.
